Exploring in Service

This is a dirt road that runs along side the beach with a few houses on it. It's a rough road, and you have to go through  a huge construction area to get to it. We found a couple people, but no English speakers.

The road got a bit narrow and harder to drive on so we parked and walked up to see if there were more houses. And just to check out the area, we had never gone this far before.

We didn't find any houses, but a very nice peaceful little beach with a lot of tide pools and tons of shells. On all the other beaches we've been on, the shells are very hard to come by. So we hope to go there again sometime, pack a lunch, and collect treasures:)

He Knocked on Our Door!!!

Yesterday on his way to work our Bible student Pablo came to our house to ask us if we could study with him at 7.  Because of his very busy ever changing work schedule we told him anytime he wanted to study to let us know, since we live right down the street from him. We were so pleasantly surprised that he actually came to us!! We studied for 2 hrs. He truly wants to learn and is soaking it all in. You can really tell that he is getting it. Today we had him over for lunch and he was asking more questions and we talked for about an hour.  He asked us today how long we knew Fernando, a brother in the congregation here that studied with him while we were back home in Tennessee. When we told him that we met Fernando in October the same time we met him, Pablo's eyes widened in surprise. He thought we had known each other for years, because of our manner together. It gave us an excellent way to introduce the worldwide brotherhood, and the identifying mark of true Christians, our love for each other and our spiritual bond.
Being down here has it's unique challenges at times, but when you get to find and teach people like Pablo it makes it all worth it!

Delphinus Beach, Cancun

One of the most beautiful beaches we have ever been to! The water is many shades of blue, in some places like a neon turquoise. You could stare at it all day long. They say you can see dolphins from this beach, but we didn't see any.

We Finally Found Them!

In October, right before we went back home we found a girl named Karen who spoke English and said she wanted a Bible study. She was from Mexico City and already had a Bible Teach book in Spanish. We gave her to our friend Sue to go to until we came back. Sue was only able to find her one time. Since we've been back this time we have tried everyday and every time of the day to find her, but had not been successful.
On Wednesday it was only Nate, Claudia and I out, so we decided to try the main bus stop in town. A lot of tourists use the bus, plus many locals, a lot of people in and out all the time. Claudia talked to a couple at the bus stop from Michigan but they were not interested. I decided to talk to the lady at the ticket booth, she looked very familiar to me and I was sure that I had met her before. I asked her if she spoke English, and she said she did. I asked her what her name was and she said "Karen"!!! I said, "I know you! I have been trying to find you." I then reminded her of Nate and I and who we were. She said she got the note and tract we left in the door, in fact she had the tract with her at work. She is still interested in studying, but she works constantly so pinning her down is going to be tough. At least now I know where she works, so I can visit her there.
Also that same day, after trying over and over again, Nate found Esaul home. A man he had talked to walking down the street, he said he has always wanted to know the answers to the questions on the Truth tract. He invited us in, and told us that he is Catholic, but pretty much only because his parents wanted him to be. Since he was a little boy he has wondered if there is one true path, one truth, and what that is. Nate got him started in the Bible Teach book and it was amazing. We are very excited about him, but again like everybody else he works all the time and his schedule changes every week, so getting them to commit to a day and time is difficult. Thought this was worth sharing, more good experiences sure to come!

Circuit Assembly in Merida

Apartment building's

The assembly was awesome and so encouraging!!! It had such an international feel to it. There were brothers and sisters there from Australia, Denmark, Norway, England, Canada, Japan, US, and probably many other places we weren't aware of. It was so encouraging to be with such a large group who are all down here serving Jehovah in this way and have all  made or are making similar sacrifices. We are so glad we were able to go.

We had about 700 in attendance, 20 cong. in the Circuit and 2 groups, 11 baptized!!

Pio, a brother in our hall. His first part for an Assembly:)
