First Few Day's

Well, we have been very busy since we arrived. Our landlady thought we were coming Friday, not Thursday so our place wasn't quite ready. It was livable with all the furniture, but not clean or organized. So we have been working at getting it cleaned up and making it our little home here. Friday we went with Tim and Sue to Costco in Cancun for our groceries. And we went to Playa del Carmen for our rental car. On Friday Nate was driving with a friend and coming the other direction was one of his return visits in his bright yellow car that's impossible to miss. The guy (Jaime) saw Nate, stopped, and they talked for a bit and he said he could come over anytime to study.
Saturday we went out in service, and we found another guy that Nate had assisted in studying with, he wants us to come back next Wednesday. We have been encouraged to talk to people who pass us by on the street and see if they speak English. So when Nate was going to call on Pablo, (he's the man from our last trip who rode his bike to meet us downtown at the service meeting) Nate saw a man walking towards them and he asked him if he spoke English and told him what we were doing and showed him the truth tract. The man speaks English and said he would love to know the answers to those questions and wants to study. He gave Nate his address and told him to go back on Thursday!!!
Last night we went to our first meeting back. We didnt arrive as early as Nate wanted, maybe ten minutes till, and a brother came out to meet us outside and asked Nate if he brought any of his outlines with him because the brother scheduled to give the talk had come at the wrong time and had gone home. So thankfully he had them with him, so he gave the talk, a new talk that he has only given one other time in December. He says he was very nervous but he didnt seem like it to me.
Today we went in service, and talked to a few people. There is a couple here right now from Kansas, they are here for 6 months. They are starting studies left and right, so I hope to learn some good pointers from them. The weather right now is perfect! Very nice breezes and low humidity.
Unfortunately, I have no pictures to share right now because my camera is broken. I had dropped it a couple weeks ago, it worked okay back home but as soon as we got here it will not work. So we plan to go into Playa tomorrow for a few thing's and I will probably buy just a simple one to have. Well that's all for now from Mexico. Hope all are well!

  2. I'm not sure what kind of camera you were using but you may want to call the factory service about it. Mine wasn't under warranty any longer and broke and they fixed it reasonably but also offered me a trade in value if I wanted a different one. Worth checking out if you have the time! Glad you made it safe!

  3. Hey Brandy :) I'm sorry that I didn't get to hang out with you before you left! Things were super busy for both of us though, so our plans were doomed from the beginning.
I'm so happy to see that you guys have arrived safely and Jehovah is already using you there! I might copy your idea and make a Dominican blog :) Look forward to seeing all of your awesome experiences on your new adventure! Love, Michelle
