First day!!

Well we made it! Flight went smoothly with no problems. Have already found our first huge cockroach in the shower, that was lovely. Never knew that they fly, went to get a shoe to kill it and it was gone. Thankfully it was in Matts bathroom.

This morning we ate breakfast at this restaurant on the beach.

Coconuts

Our bedroom, no AC so windows stay open all the time, with the ocean so close there is a nice breeze. But it's still pretty muggy. In the middle of the night I had to close them because a big thunderstorm came in.

Tomorrow morning we meet for service at nine at the downtown square which has shops and stuff. We will mainly do public witnessing there, and try to find people who speak English. They dont usually go in service early in the day because they say nobody is home, so they meet at 4:00 and find alot more people. There is only one other pioneer, so we will likely make our own schedule and it could just be the three of us alot in service. We found out last night that on Sunday's we have field service meeting at our house. They have Public Talk and WT study on Saturday.
Sometime this week we will rent a car. The roads and driving is very different down here, i plan on letting Nate tackle the driving. When it rains real hard like it did last night, the roads flood (not terrible but enough)because they dont have any drainage system. So when that happens no one really drives anymore.
It is quite a bit different here, more than I expected i think. Really feel like a fish out of water, it will just take some getting used to. This is when I REALLY wish I knew more Spanish. Its very weird to not understand any road signs, NOTHING understood in the grocery store, but we'll get there. They take a siesta in afternoons, and just chill and relax here. Nobody's in a hurry.
American food is very expensive, a carton of OJ cost $6! So we decided against that. Probably going to stick to a very simple diet.
Well we will try to post on here every couple days. Hope everyone is doing good. Miss everyone back home!!!

  3. Hello Nate and Brandy,
awesome pictures, now I'll go back and read all the text. So glad you two/three are able to come and taste the good things of Mexico. For sure the Ministry and being with the brothers and sisters from so many places is the best this old world has to offer. May Jehovah keep on blessing you all and the work. We hope many more will be gatherd before the end/the begining of life in the real paradise! Best, your brother, David Collins, Apizaco, Tlaxcala, Mexico. (241) 118-7808, just in case you want to visit ugly Apizaco where not much is pretty but the people!
